We're planning a light first day in France. Arrive CDG mid-morning, rent car, drive to Giverny for Monet house/garden visit.
Before driving to Bayeux the next day, we are considering staying overnight in nearby Vernon. Interested in any opinons on Vernon as our stop, or suggestions for other towns.
I’m not sure I understand your question. Are you spending the night after touring Monet’s house in Giverny and then considering the next night in Vernon? Or are you considering driving to Bayeux straight from touring Monet’s house? Either way I suggest you spend your first night in France in either Giverny or Vernon, then travel on to Rouen the next day.
On Day 1, after visiting Giverny in the afternoon, we would spend that night in Vernon.
Day 2 would start in Vernon, and end in Bayeux.
We stayed in a BnB in Giverny across the river from Vernon and just down the road from Monet's house. Worked great for us.
Staying in either Vernon or Giverny would be a good idea.
