Any recommendations for a restaurant in the Notre Dame area?
I went to L'Orangerie restaurant located at 28 Rue Saint Louis. It is on the small island behind Notre Dame. It is in the Rick Steves book. I went last September while I was on the RS BOE 14 day tour. It is a lovely restaurant and the food was excellent. Reservations would be needed. It is a restaurant, not a cafe. I wore nice pants and a nice top. Not sure if it is open for lunch. But a very nice place to go for dinner. I will be in Paris in September and looking forward to going back. Coming from Notre Dame, it is at the end of Saint Louis and on the left hand side. I remember it well because we did not know that this charming restaurant was on the small island behind Notre Dame and at 8PM at night it was hard to find. But would not be hard to find if you knew it was on the small island. Saint Louis is a restaurant row of lots of places but this is a gem. Let me know if you went and if you liked it. Best, Ann
Cafe Panis, located across the Seine. Seating inside facing Notre Dame, I enjoyed two dinners and my last night enjoying some dessert & Port looking at the church lit up.
I highly recommend Rotisserie du Beaujolie right across the Seine, 19 Quai de la Tournelle. We always dine there when visiting Paris. Filled with locals.
