Nice restaurant in Eiffel Tower area

I am glad you asked this question! My favorite restaurant in Paris is 3 blocks from the Eiffel tower, the "Cafe Du Marche" on 38 Rue Cler. It doesn't have a view of the tower but the food is awesome and inexpensive and the atmosphere is great!

Another popular one, but also without a view of the Tower is Cafe Constant. It is pricier than Cafe du Marche or Cafe Central which is across the street from it.

If you're not worried about seeing the tower while you eat, there are three restaurants on St. Dominique that are owned by Christian Constant. They are all good. My favorite is Les Cocottes du Christian Constant. It's next door to Christian Constant's Michelin Starred restaurant - same kitchen, same quality, not as fancy, not expensive. You eat at a bar stool. The food is outstanding (mostly casserole style) The people are very helpful and the price is right.

Hi KC, try Les Ombres, next to the Musee du Quai Branly. It has a terrific view of the Eiffel Tower. I found the place by accident a few years ago when I was wandering around the 7th, looking for a place for lunch. I had a very nice salad at the cafe on the patio. At the time, I thought of the place as a hidden treasure! I took a peek into the restaurant, it looked nice, more expensive, but you don't have the view of the ET from inside (of course!). I love Paris, have a great time!

Had a strange experience at Marché in Rue Cler last week. The waiter recognized that my wife is a tourist and he tried to tell her that the tip was not included in the final price of our dinner. (I was not at the table at the time.) He told her that the 15% number at the bottom of the check is what's expected as a tip. He was clearly lying. Service IS included. I don't think I'll be going back.
