We are looking for a nice traditional French restaurant for my birthday next month. We are staying in the 8th arrondissement so ideally we’d like someplace near by, but not opposed to hoping on metro. Price range $100-$150 including wine for two. Thank you

Where exactly are you staying? Use a search platform (google maps, The Fork, and TripAdvisor) and drop a pin on your hotel location, and search the area near your hotel...find some ideas, and then maybe come back and ask for advice for picking a restaurant.

What a nice way yo celebrate!
One of my faves is a short Metro ride away, across the river, Il Sorrentino. Excellent Italian cuisine elevated with French touches. Take a look at the menu and I believe they have online reservations, which are imperative. I’ve seen people turned away.
