Our trips to France in 2020 were cancelled secondary to Covid-19. We contacted the hotel but were told that no refunds were possible because of French government regulations. Has anyone found a solution for a refund?
I am assuming this was a prepaid hotel? Claim on your travel insurance. Not sure if you can take it up with your credit card under the covid situation, but that might be the other alternative.
Many are out of pocket because the country rules are not 'ours'.
Alternatively, ask for a voucher for up to 2 years of date of the booked dates.
That's a new one. We seen on this forum something about vouchers good for x--amount of time, and if they aren't used within that time period, then you can get the refund. That's what I thought the French government rule said. Try going to the parent company, Accor.
Was this a prepaid rate, and was the hotel open on your dates?
I always book all Accor chain hotels directly with Accor. I would contact them to solve your problem since it sounds complicated.
