looking for an authentic restaurant for bouillabaisse lunch. we will be on a cruise with 4p sailing time, so need something close-ish to the cruise port. thanks

Most places I know or have heard of are in the wrong side of the city, but "au Bout du Quai" is on the right side of the Vieux Port vs. the cruise port, and it is quite good for what you seek.

It's been several years, but we had a great bouillabaisse at Chez Madie Les Galinettes in the Old Port. In case you haven't seen this yet, many restaurants require you to order bouillabaisse 24 hours in advance. (Chez Madie did not require this when we were there, but that may have changed.)

Chez Fonfon (140, rue du Vallon des Auffes) has a good reputation for bouillabaisse but is not too close to Vieux Porte. It’s worth the taxi fare! If you want to stay in Vieux Port, you might want to try Le Miramar.
