We will be in Paris in late May for a week, staying in an apartment near Luxembourg Gardens & I was hoping to get some recommendations for nice but not too expensive restaurants/cafes/bars in that general area. TIA
We went on the RS Heart of France tour in 2012 and a restaurant I wanted to try was Restaurant Polidor, 41 rue Monsieur le Prince, very close to Luxembourg Gardens. Turned out that was the group restaurant for one of our evening meals. All three in our family enjoyed the food. I looked in Trip Advisor and it is still getting good reviews. You might want to look there for more opinions on the decor and such but it could be what you are looking for.
Thanks Don. I appreciate your response. I will be using the website Paris by Mouth as well as a Trip Advisor city app along with others I'm sure to find somewhere nice to eat in whatever neighborhoods we end up in at feeding time! I've already compiled quite a list of places we might want to try! Plus I have Rick's Paris Pocket guide too.
It's a few streets over on the Montparnasse side, but I liked La Campagnola on Avenue du Maine. Yes, it's Italian, but after a week in France it was welcome food. :) Good pizza, friendly staff. Good reviews on Trip Advisor.
You'd do well dining at La Cuisine de Philipe. It is right next door to The Hotel Luxembourg Parc and known for it's souffle's, both savory and sweet. One of the best meals we had in Paris last summer. L'Epigramme is also a nearby favorite but more expensive.
Rue Moufftard is close and a super fun area for meals and snacks ( check out Hemingways appt at the top of the hill)
