Can anyone recommend a nice hotel (small, good) in the Verdun area and another in and around Bastogne, Belgium? Thanks.

Try the Best Western Melba in Bastogne. Good location and very friendly hotel. I can't help you with Verdun; we weren't happy with the place we stayed (it was a bit out of town).

You might try logishotels.com as a resource for both locations. These are small hotels, usually with a resident chef/owner.
They are often in small towns or the countryside and a car is needed to get to them. But if you are going to Verdun, you will probably have a car.
