Looking to stay a night near the Gare Lyon as we make our way back to Paris from the south of France then home. Any hotel recommendations within walking distance of the train station? Interested in smaller boutique type hotels, not chains.

The Hilton Hotel Camille is extremely close. Our stay there was great. Several really good restaurants within walking distance, also. Just ask the hotel staff for recommendations.

We stayed here for 1 night in 2014, before an early-morning train to the south of France. It was perfectly fine for one night, and there were also plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from. Currently, it has 4 stars out of 5 on TripAdvisor.

It’s about a 17 minute walk but I really enjoyed staying at the Castex Hotel on rue Castex. Safe area, great for walking, nice hotel, good breakfast, many excellent restaurants in the area. Close to Metro line 1 at Bastille.

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Gare de Lyon in 2019. I know that most people prefer the various neighborhoods like Latin Quarter or Marais, etc. but we were going for convenience to the train station & metro. We were happy with our choice. The rooms are modern, the elevators use a key system for security & there are plenty of cafes in the area. There is a Starbucks right outside the hotel which turned out to be very convenient several times. It is a 5 minute or less walk to Gare de Lyon.
