My friend and I stayed at Ricks recommended hotels in Carcasonne and we were very disappointed. Rick mentioned the friendly accommodating staff, but we were subjected to a surly, unhelpful owner. The rooms were substandard, even for a 2 star hotel. We were rudely treated when we asked to change rooms. The general rudeness of the owner ruined our experience. It occurred to us that perhaps the owner recognized Rick and extended him a level of politeness not offered to the general traveling public.
