Hotel Splendid Hotel & Spa, Nice, France review

This review is for room 612 a deluxe room. This hotel is comfortable, clean and well run. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, but if you’re looking to be in the middle of the shops and cafés you may find this to be a bit too far from the action for your liking. It’s about 5 blocks walk to the main drag. There is a restaurant across the street but it did not appear to be very popular when we were there. There is a laundromat, patisserie, mini market and pharmacy around the corner.

The front desk staff is polite, especially Juliana, who goes out of her way to be friendly and helpful. The rooms are incredibly quiet because the walls inside the rooms and in the hallways are padded and absorb all the sound.

The beds and bedding are quite comfortable, a variety of pillows are provided. Bath linens are large and plush. Large bottles of soap/shampoo and moisturizer are provided. The bathroom is spacious, there is a hair dryer, and a lot of storage both in the medicine cabinet and in the cabinet below the sink. There is also a heated towel rack.

The on-site breakfast is very nice and at €10 for booking directly a good value. They are a variety of breads, cereals, salads, meat and eggs. You can ask to have your eggs cooked sunny side up at no additional charge - a bonus for Americans. It is served in a rooftop dining room with a beautiful view of the city. We stopped in the bar one evening for a charcuterie platter and it was huge and quite filling.

A lovely property if you wish to be a bit away from it all.
