My husband and I may be traveling to Nice in January for my birthday and would like some recommendations on where to stay, which area, which hotels? TIA

Hotel Windsor is in a very nice area, has gardens. Easy access to restaurants, beach.

I stayed at the Hotel Aria on two separate visits to Nice. It is a charming three star hotel in a nice neighborhood across the street from a small park, the rooms are air conditioned, it is close to beach promenade, walking distance to the train station, and I found the service very good.
I would stay there again if I were to visit Nice.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Nice Grimaldi hotel - it was nice, clean, and close to everything. 2-3 minute walk to the waterfront and about 5 minutes to Old Town. Very helpful staff and not too expensive. It was also not a far walk to the airport bus stop and about 15 minutes from the train station in case you want to take the train to Monaco.
