Hotel near Giverny

Looking for recommendations for our last overnight memorable night on Sunday, June 8th in France near Giverny (coming from Normandy). Plan to visit Monet's house and need to drop off rental car at the airport (?) with departure to the US at 6:30 pm local time on June 9th.

At this late date and in peak season, there may be limited options for June 8. I suggest using Booking.com and do a search on either Giverny or Vernon. I did a quick search and see that Hotel Restaurant La Musardiere has availability on June 8. I would book it ASAP. It is right in the village of Giverny, a very short walk to Maison de Monet. (This is listed in the RS Paris Guidebook.) I see other listings with availability on June 8.

We did something similar 2 years ago, also in June, driving from Bayeux to Giverny. We stayed 2 nights at Maison D'hôtes Les Coquelicots in Giverny, a sweet B & B just up the hill from Monet's house (a short, but slightly steep walk). I see that they are not using booking.com for reservations. Not sure what's going on there or how else to check availability.

Giverny will be crowded during the day, but after 6 pm the village is quiet, and you'll enjoy a lovely dinner. Outside, if the weather is nice (although you can expect cigarette smoke). We enjoyed dinner at Hotel Baudy, one of Monet's favorite haunts back in the day. At the time, I wasn't interested in the menu at La Musardiere, but you may feel otherwise.

Because you'll be returning your car at CDG just before your flight, you'll need to pad lots of extra time. And they really mean it when they say you need to arrive for flight check-in 3 hours before departure! If your visit to Maison de Monet will be in the AM of June 9, you'll want to reserve your tickets in advance. (Actually, this is a good idea no matter which day you go.) Or, you can aim for a visit to Maison de Monet late in the afternoon of June 8, when the afternoon light is spectacular. You can see the entire house and gardens in 2 hours or so. Apologies if I'm stating things you already know ...

Thank you very much! I actually ended up booking a room at Hotel Restaurant La Musardiere. I will also consider your comments. Still trying to figure out if we will leave early from Bayeux on Sunday but this is super helpful. Thank you for your time in writing this for me!
