Hotel Excelsior Latin Quarter in Paris

I have booked a triple room at The Hotel Excelsior in the Latin Quarter at 20 Rue Cujas. It is by the Sorbonne University and the Luxembourgh Gardens. The metro is either Luxembourgh or Cluny la Sorbonne.

Their website is lovely and I wanted to see if any of you have first hand experience. I like the area but websites can be deceiving.

Thank You,

Kathy

This is so odd; I just logged onto the forum to post THIS EXACT QUESTION! I just did an extensive search for Paris hotel rooms (for my family of four) on booking.com and selected this hotel from hoards of listings. It does indeed sound like a winner. I got a price of $250 a night for a quad room in July 2015. While not exactly inexpensive, it was the best I could find for location, perceived quality (based on review scores and photos), bed types (no sofa beds), and price. I too was going to post to see if anyone else has stayed there. You do have to pay 15% upon booking and if you cancel at any time, they charge the first night. So, no free cancellation.

When I find a hotel I am considering booking that is not listed in my travel guidebook, I look up reviews for the establishment. Try looking them up on Hotels.com, Trip Advisor or Kayak.com. You don't have to use booking sights to book hotels, but you may find useful reviews/photos from other travelers who have already stayed there. If you do decide to stay at this hotel, then please post a review yourself. Let other travelers benefit from your experience as you may have benefited from other traveler's opinions. Bonne Chance!

I did check reviews on tripadvisor and booking.com and they were very good; I didn't see any bad comments.

I will post a review once I get back towards the end of December. I book directly with the hotels as that is my way of seeing how friendly or responsive they are. And that is what I did for this hotel. I am happy to help in any way! And they were very helpful in booking directly on their website and they have a very good cancellation policy so try it as you can cancel with NO fee.

I wanted to report back after my travels to France and this hotel. It is in the Latin Quarter and ideally located. It does not look good from the outside but inside the room was very clean but old bathroom but acceptable. It is hard to find a triple or a quad so the price is good but lower your expectations and spend a lot of time outside exploring the Latin Quarter and the University. The staff was quite nice as well.
