Hotel Early Check-In

We will be arriving in Paris around 6:30 AM and will not be able to check into our rented apartment until 3:00 PM.

My wife doesn't sleep well on airplanes and she may need sleep before then.

I was thinking about getting hotel room somewhere for half the day but normal check-in times are around 2:00 PM.

Any suggestions on how I might get a room in the morning?

Contact a hotel in advance and explain the hours and reason you will need the room. I am certain you will find one willing to rent you a room. You will likely have better results will a larger hotel with more inventory than a smaller boutique hotel or pension.

If you arrive at CDG I think the Ibis there has "day rooms" available.

Why not just extend your booking to include the day before? That way your apartment will be "ready on arrival" and you'll be able to unpack once, relax, and enjoy your first day in the city without having to move at all - should be no problem checking in when you arrive in the city from the airport.

If your flight arrives in Paris at 6:30, you probably won't actually get to your hotel until 9 or 9:30 a.m. Suggest that you contact your hotel and request an early check-in. Explain the situation and there's a good chance they will have your room ready.

It is a rented apartment, not a hotel.

Personally, our battle plan with jet lag is to take a two hour nap around the 3, 4 pm. We would try our best to stay in the sunlight till about that time. So if you could get into your apartment around 3, that would work for us. Even with landing at 6.30 you probably will not be into Paris until around 9, 10 am. I would store the luggage and do some walking, have a light lunch, get your luggage and a taxi to the apartment around 3. Take that nap and go for a early evening dinner. Should be in fine shape for the next day.
