Hotel du Dragon Paris

I am travelling solo to Paris in April and am looking for a hotel under 200 euro/night in the 5th, 6th or 7th arrondissement. Has anyone stayed at the Hotel du Dragon recently? Other recommendations? Basic accommodations are fine. Merci!

Hotel Muget in the 7th.

About a 5-10 minute walk from the Ecole Militaire Metro stop.

First stayed there in the early 90’s. Been back 3 times since. Tiny elevator which reminds me of the one in Charade.

Short walk to the Invalids and the enjoyable Rodin Museum.

In the Fall 2023, I stayed (solo) at the Hotel du Dragon for two nights. My room was at the top of the building. I can’t recall exactly but I had to walk up more than 8 flights of stairs to get to the small single room carrying my luggage. There is no elevator. The bed linens were rough. Modern bathroom. It was chilly but luckily I had an extra blanket. The staff wasn’t friendly. I don’t recommend this hotel.

Thanks, Joanna. I ended up with another booking and was going to check out Hotel du Dragon for my next trip but I don't think I will. Someone else had a similar experience to yours. Appreciate you letting me know.

You’ll have to check current prices but i recommend:

Hotel de Lutèce
Hotel des Deux Iles
Hotel St Louis en l’Isle (one on Ile St Louis, and one in the Marais)
Hotel Diana
Hotel St Jacques
Hotel Madison
Hotel les Dames du Pantheon
Hotel des Grands Hommes

I prefer staying in the heart of Paris, the 4th, 5th and 6th. The 7th is not central Paris. I like walking out of my hotel and being in the central part and nearer to the river. The Marais and Ile St Louis are the best neighborhoods of all to me.
