I can't help offering a shoutout to this place, the best of the seven hotels I stayed at in France last month. Very well located at Place des Celestins, lots of dining options within a few blocks. They offer a breakfast buffet for 17 euros and a "takeout" conitnental breakfast, that they'll bring to your room, for 8. The latter was a better value than in nearby cafes, especially since you don't have to put on your shoes to get it. My room was small but adequate, a queen-size bed, desk, a couple of chairs, nice bathroom, and good storage space, for a refundable advance-purchase rate of 135 euros. I've paid more for less elsewhere. It was the only hotel of the seven with carpeting in the room. The front desk staff was very helpful. There is an elevator, but I didn't use it much since my room was up just one flight from the lobby. Highly recommended.
