Hotel De l'avre

I found this hotel through somebody who wrote about it on this forum and I would love to second that recommendation. We stayed there two weeks ago and we loved it! It;s located at a walkable distance to the Eiffel Tower (I like this area, specially if this is your first time traveling to Paris) .Metro is around the corner . Rooms , are small as usually in Paris specially with budget hotels (90 euros per night) , , but they are cute and VERY clean. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful . Give it a try, if you are not looking for luxury, this is a lovely place.

We stayed at Hotel de l'Avre for 6 wks and loved it too. It's not in the heart of Paris but the price and the hotel itself is great. The owner, Bernard, and his staff are wonderful.

Maybe I read it from you Susan! I have read a lot of your post through the years and I have enjoyed them and learnt a lot from them, thank you! Actually this was my fourth time in Paris and I had never been to ile St. Louis before and thanks to you, this time I insisted we had to walk through it , we did it and we loved it! Thank you again!!

Thanks Veronica, that's so nice of you to say...
Hotel de l'Avre really is a gem. And being a half block from a Metro stop where 3 major lines intersect makes it very convenient for sightseeing. And the best Monoprix I've ever been to is a block away. Not to mention the great outdoor market... And it's within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower....
I'm so glad you went to Ile St. Louis and that you liked it! It ticks all the boxes for me... heart of Paris, charming, surrounded by the river and amazing views... I just love it there.

I have also stayed there twice over the years and am booked again this year. I actually preferred it to the Hotel du Champ de Mars near Rue Cler - just more my style - basic and uncluttered - and less expensive to boot.

Hotel de l'Avre may be basic, but in a good way. We found it very cute and charming.
