Hotel Beaugency vs Hotel Splendid Tour Eiffel

Husband & I have a choice of staying at the Hotel Beaugency after our BOE tour or moving to the Hotel Splendid. The Splendid has a room with front view of Eiffel tower on a lower floor with no balcony or a side view of tower from balcony on an upper floor. Has anyone had experience with either hotel?

I stayed at the Beaugency. I had a view of a wall-so I can't comment on that. The hotel itself is nice and clean. It was also quiet. I was one person in a double room. Lots of room for me but as a couple there would not be a lot of room to move around the bed. I'd say fairly typical for a Parisien Hotel. The ensuite bath though was quite large for the size of the room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location enabled me to enjoy dalectable dessert every evening from the extremely close patisserie. Very dangerous indeed.

If I had to choose, I'd pick the Hotel Beaugency. Both hotels have teeny tiny rooms but the staff is nicer at the Beaugency and you are very well located in the Rue Cler neighborhood. Breakfast isn't anything grand but you can walk right to Rue Clair cafes and bakeries. Note also that Hotel Splendid does not allow you to carry any food at all into your rooms so no snacking or indoor picnicking allowed. If they catch you, they can toss you out and charge a special cleaning fee.

After my BOE tour I'm transfering to the Hotel Sublim Eiffel. For a reasonable price (cheaper than the Beaugency) we have a room with a view of the Eiffel (about 10 minutes from Eiffel) and a fun room with black/blue lighting. It's a quirky hotel (look at the pictures!) and that appealed to me as much as the price- it ain't no Holiday Inn! LOL! ;-) It also has good reviews on trip advisor and other review sites.

Good luck in your search!

First off ,, this is not posted in correct forum. .you have posted under ' france hotel reviews" so may not get as many anwers as if you had posted under just "france".

Secondly.. who in their right mind would stay at the Hotel Slendid with that stupid policy.. I have stayed in more then a dozen lovely clean budget hotels in Paris and not one had that policy.
Disgusting, and don't kid yourself.. its normal or ok..

as for views.. they may be lovely , but I would choose by location and price. no one goes to Europe to sit in their rooms and look at do they? They want to be out and about.. and not flat broke.

Thank you to those who replied. We have decided to stay at the Hotel Beaugency rather than move to a different location.
