Has anyone stayed at HÔTEL CARON DE BEAUMARCHAIS?

Hello,
I am looking at hotels in Marais for my sister and I. I came across HÔTEL CARON DE BEAUMARCHAIS and saw on that it was previously recommended by Rick but is not in the 2017 Paris Guide Book. Has anyone stayed there recently? We are both in our mid 20s and staying 6 nights - looking for a fun and lively area but safe!

Any other recommendations you can provide would be great. Keeping in line with Rick's guidebook, were looking in the $$ range but want as close to 'nice' and upscale as possible!

Thank you!
Lauren

This hotel is in the 2018 France book but listed with $$$ rather than $$.
However, I haven’t stayed there so can’t comment on it directly.

Love this charming boutique hotel in Le Marais! We were there in Sept. 2013 for 5 nights. It was recommended to us by friends. It exceeded our expectations. Kind helpful staff, delicious breakfast (we shared), short walking distance to the Metro, Seine, Notre Dame, cafes, etc. Last time I looked at their website they were offering complimentary tickets to popular sites. As I recall it was in the $$ range. We chose a room on an upper floor with a balcony. We would not hesitate to stay there again. We booked directly with the hotel.

We loved it but that was back in 2010. My sister went a few years later and liked it as well.

I suppose the area is lively but the clientele wasn't 20-somethings. Very quiet hotel.

March rates, from the hotel's website, come up at around 200 euros a night. The website says rates can vary from 130 to 250 euros and classifies August and November through the end of March as low seasons.
Amazing what you can learn with a few minutes searching: https://www.carondebeaumarchais.com/index-en.html

I like the area. I don't like the hotel and it has nothing to do with the staff which is fine but with the decor. This is the place that helped me realize that I really do not like chintz and "authentic" 18th century decor but to each his or her own. If I were in my 20s, I'd probably stay in the Haut Marais, Republique area or just east of Le Marais near Bastille metro station if looking for fun and lively. I feel like safe is a given in most parts of central Paris. Take a look at Hotel Original on Blvd Beaumarchais or Hotel L'Antoine on Rue de Charonne if you are willing to consider another area or another style of decor. The clientele at Caron de Beaumarchais, in my experience, ranges into ages in the multiples of 20s. That's not a problem, of course, but I mention it in case you are looking for a lively scene in your hotel.

I stayed there 5 years ago. I enjoyed the location and the staff was very helpful. Please note that the room size is small and very cluttered with extra pieces of furniture that you don't really need. We ended up moving a couple of chairs out into the hall so we could walk around the bed!

I can recommend another boutique hotel in the Marais: Hotel Caron, Paris, on 3 Rue Caron. My daughter and I stayed six nights in June, 2016, to be close to my niece who lives in Paris. It is more modern inside, but still quaint, and very clean. The staff is friendly, helpful, and speaks English. It is in a great area, within walking distance to the subway, many restaurants, bakeries, and sightseeing spots. On our second stay they put us in an accessible room which I did not care for as water got all over the bathroom. It is on a cute side street off of a busy boulevard so we felt less stressed when getting dropped off and picked up by taxi drivers.
