My husband and I have been living in Nice, France for two and a half months and have visited several restaurants during that time. Last night, we enjoyed a very nice meal at Le Banthai on Rue Droite in Old Town Nice. It is a small Thai restaurant with a limited, but tasty, menu that includes meat, fish, chicken, and vegetarian options. There is a set price of 12 euros per dish (very resonable for Nice). Our server was friendly and spoke English.
Variety IS the spice of life. Foreign food in a foreign country is variety.
Traveling in Norway, when asking a Norwegian for recommendations on good Norwegian restaurants, he said that if they want Norwegian food they just eat at home.
Concluding a ski trip in the Scandinavian arctic, we asked our Finnish guide for a Helsinki restaurant recommendation to celebrate the conclusion of our trip. He said that the Santa Fe Bar and Grill was his favorite.
And the English seem to have a strong preference for Indian (as in subcontinent in India) cuisine.
Foreign foods in foreign countries. The spice of life. On the other hand, I enjoy sampling the local beers.
