France Airbnb locations

I’ve narrowed down where to stay while in Paris. Our priorities are safety, convenience to the Metro, and a quieter more neighborhood feel with local shops and restaurants.

  1. Boulogne-Billancourt area a few blocks from the stadiums.
  2. 7th Arrondisement near Musee Roadin and Musee Maillol
  3. 14th Arrondisement near Montrouge
  4. 16th Arrondisement near Parc Bois de Boulogne

Ten years ago my husband and I rented an apartment in the Montorgueil section of Paris and are looking at places right now in that same area when we return on our next trip. There are several places on AirBNB in Montorgueil that I have my eye on.

It is a pedestrian area with both restaurants, bakeries (Paul's), produce stands, cheese shops and groceries. We felt like locals when we stayed there and look forward to returning. Shopkeepers started treating us like locals giving us better produce. Occasionally a Parisian would think we were locals and start a conversation in French.

Walked everywhere or hopped on the metro. Highly recommend the area. If you put Montorgueil in your AirBNB search along with Paris, France you will see quite a few listings and photos.

Number 1 in Boulogne-Billancourt won't come under the Paris law stating that all rental apartments must be registered. On the other hand, be sure the others are compliant with the law, as they are inside Paris. Some people posting on this Forum have had reservations canceled at the last minute because of the law.

In general, the 7th and 16th are classier than the 14th, but where in the 14th can make a difference. The part of Boulogne I've been in has been nice.
