2 adults 3 kids traveling to Paris in August. I'm hoping I can get some ideas on where to stay as a lot of the hotels has a 4 people max and requires a 2nd bedroom. The kids are 10 and under so a bit apprehensive about them staying in a different room by themselves. I'm hoping we could stay in a place that is close to most of the landmarks. I'm also hoping to get info on the best way to get to Orly airport as we will be traveling to Italy during our stay.

With 5 people, 3 of them lil' ones, a taxi would probably work best to get to Orly.

You might want to check out the Hotel du Cadran. We stayed there in April of 2016 in their Junior Suite which sleeps 5. It would be right for 5 adults but it would work for a couple with children. The hotel is nice and has a breakfast every morning. The one drawback would be its single "wet" bathroom but we were aware of it from the outset and it wasn't a big deal. The neighborhood is also quite charming with cute shops and yummy food. If you're having a hankering for bagels I can highly recommend Bagelstein which is just down the street. I know, it sounds funny to recommend a bagel shop in Paris but we were a little gastronomically homesick by the time we hit Paris last spring. Hope this helps!
From the airport you can have the taxi dispatcher find you a six passenger van taxi, however on your return trip to airport you will need to order a special taxi as regular street ones don't take five .
G7 is a reliable company with English speaking dispatchers and can also provide car seats if you wish . Google for phone number/ website . I've used them twice . Note when you order a taxi inside Paris they arrive with a charge on the meter , as they turn on meter from timenof dispatch , however from the airport you will pay a SET price of 50-55 euros depending on your destination , either right bank or left bank .
The Hotel Latin Excelsior has suites for 5 people. It's a very nice hotel.
