7 nights were not enough in this exquisite & unusual B&B artistically created in & around the ruins of a 10th c fortress. Le Roc sur l'Orbieu offers comfort with modern facilities in a charming medieval setting. Our room Lo Tinalier was built into the remaining part of the remparts: a truly delightful experience to awaken each morning to expansive views of the countryside through the balcony door & window of our room
Helene warmly welcomes guests into her home, attentively caters to their comfort and is always pleased to recommend places to visit. Le Roc's location is perfectly centered for touring the many historical sights: Cathar sites, Monasteries of Lagrasse & Fontfroide, Carcassonne, Narbonne & the coast among others.
We reserved dinner each evening; Helene is a marvelous cook and guests are made to feel like old friends gathered together for a holiday meal. A plus to return each day to relax in such a peaceful & truly inspiring atmosphere. Helene has created so many different nooks & crannies in which to lounge & dine both indoors and outdoors. Scrumptious & plentiful breakfasts. Excellent value. This is a place to return to!
