Seemingly nestled above the beautiful woods which surround it, Les Dolines is an extraordinary & peaceful oasis in the midst of a highly touristed area. Sheer pleasure to return to its natural beauty each evening. Perfect Location for visiting the Ardeche Gorges, the 30,000 year old cave paintings of Chauvet, as well as many lovely medieval villages.
Our charming hosts, Monique and Philou Truchy delighted in sharing their extensive knowledge of the area’s outdoor activities & sports, and visits to cultural & historic sights. Wonderful footpaths are adjacent to this B&B.
Beautifully decorated rooms all equipped with completely modern bath facilities Our room for 7 nights, Le Robinier (85 Euros) was spacious & light-filled with large shower; from our windows, panoramic views of countryside, the pool & the unique giant “rock garden”.
We highly recommend dinner; Monique is a superbly talented cook & Philou attentive to guests’ comfort. 6 of our 7 nights we enjoyed outstanding meals, great company, & the panoramic views from the dining terrace. Without hesitation it would have been 7 dinners but Sundays is the kitchen’s night off….our loss!
Location: an easy km from the charming Balazuc, one of the labeled “most beautiful villages of France”, 10 min from Vogüé another such labeled village, 25 min from Vallon Pont d’Arc, Pont d’Arc & the beginning of the scenic drive above the Gorges, 35 min from the reproduction of the Chauvet Cave, many other grottos & natural, historic, & cultural sites, among them,the labeled village of Aiguèze, & Aven d’Orgnac.
