Crown Plaza Paris Republique

We stayed here for 4 nights on my recent birthday trip to Paris. We upgraded to a Club room, which is a larger room with views of the courtyard and also includes breakfast and use of the Club Room, where in the evenings there is beer, wine, sodas and light snacks. Our room was very clean, comfortable bed, had a nice desk area, the only thing we didn't really like was that the toilette was located in its own tiny room, separate from the actual bathroom. Breakfast was very good, lots of variety in both cold and hot items. The chef will even make you an egg or an omelet while you wait. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner while we were there though. I would definitely stay here again.

Most upscale hotels have the toilet segregated from the bathroom, most separated by a door, which enables two people to use the bathroom without, ahem, well you get it. And you did not like this? Heavens why?

I have always considered a separate toilette a good thing, especially when you have more than one person in the room.

A separate toilet is very common in France and , to my mind, preferable.

I don't mind a separate toilette, as long as its connected to the bathroom with a door but for this one, we had to walk back into the bedroom, around the wall with the TV and into the bathroom to wash our hands. A bit inconvenient.

From what I'm reading on Trip Advisor there is a floor of renovated rooms and given the age of the building I suspect this dictates where fixtures can be located. But, I have to say, many of the reviews for this hotel otherwise are quite negative with pictures to support.

Our experience was very positive. Our room was very clean & everything modern and in good shape. Not sure why all the negative reviews. We loved it and would stay again.
