We spent 3 comfortable nights at Hotel particulier POPPA in Bayeux France. The building is old and charming, but the interior has been modernized in the last 4 years. It is centrally located on Place Charles de Gaullle, so we could walk to the cathedral, Tapestry museum, and good restaurants. We toured D-day beaches from here, which was very convenient. The hosts were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was varied and fresh. We hated to leave this special place!
We opted to stay at a B&B at Villers-Bocage, a 400 year old farm about 15 miles south of Bayeux. Best thing we ever did in Normandie. Odile and Jacques are the best hosts and Mont Saint Michel is only 90 minutes away by 4 lane motor way. Check out www.bandbnormandie.com.
