B&B or Hotel in Chinon

Planning to stay 2 nights in Chinon on RS travel book recommendation. Would love to know which B&B or hotels are recommended!

It's been 10 years, but a friend and I stayed for 3 or 4 nights at the Hotel Agnes Sorel in Chinon. I have happy memories of our stay there and the graciousness and helpfulness of the owner. It is right on the river at the edge of town, and on a busy road into town, but I don't recall being bothered by any noise, and our room faced the road and the river.
10 years before that I stayed at the Hotel Diderot with the RS tour I was on. That was also very nice and comfortable.
Perhaps you will get some more recent trip reports, but I would stay at either of these again.

I stayed at Hotel Diderot and was happy with it. This was about 6-7 years ago, so check Trip Advisor to make sure the reviews are still good.

I stayed at Hotel Diderot this past October and was thoroughly satisfied with the experience. The location was ideal, the room was beautifully decorated, the innkeepers friendly and helpful and the price was right. I wasn't sure if we should stay in Chinon or Saumur but Chinon turned out to be the better choice. It's a lovely little town with great restaurants. I highly recommend visiting Chateau de Breze and Chateau du Rivau which are both close by. Save your ticket stubs because many attractions on the western side of Tours give you discounts on your next admission.

Another vote for the Hotel Diderot. The rooms were very clean and quaint. Good breakfast. The owner, Laurent, also does a wonderful, fun, wine tasting.
