The first week of May we had a lovely stay at Au Charme Rabelaisien, hosted by Mme Slyvie Viard. It is a splendid old building that has been maintained, updated and furnished with antiques.The location is ideal within Amboise as well as to travel to highlights in the Loire. We stayed in the large suite which opens to the courtyard, gardens and the pool ; great linens were provided and the generous bath with shower, tub, double sinks had high quality amenities. All areas are well-kept and very clean. The European breakfast was fresh and plentiful . Sylvie is the quintessential French woman - stylish, conversational and vibrant. We would surely look to stay there on a return trip to the Loire region.

Completely agree with your review. It sounds like we may have stayed in the same suite. Mme Slyvie was an excellent host - so friendly and cheerful - reminded me of a fluttering butterfly. The garden was very serene and tastefully decorated with cute ornaments which showed attention to details and pride of ownership. Breakfasts were excellent and beautifully presented. Our room was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. And there was secured private on site parking which was a big plus!
