A kindness in Colmar, Malson Martin Jund (Cecile) and Alsace guide Muriel Brun

My wife and I spent 4 days in Colmar the last week of November. We stayed at Malson Martin Jund. On our last day we asked the hotel (Cecile Lambolez) to call for a cab to take us to the Colmar train station. The cab was late and the hotel called again and learned that it would be at least another 1/2 hour before a cab would arrive. Ms. Brun was visiting Cecile and happened to overhear our predicament and offered to take us to the train station which we accepted.

Thank you to Ms. Brun for extending an unexpected kindness to a couple of weary but happy travelers. I should also mention that Ms. Brun does tours of the Alsace region and is the only guide listed in Rick Steve's France guidebook for Colmar (Page 933, 2016). Although we did not take a tour with her, I can heartily recommend her as a nice person and a very good driver. Please consider her services if you are ever in the Colmar area and in need of a guide.

Our stay at Malson Martin Jund was exceptional. Cecile was very accommodating to our morphing reservation needs. Our room was clean and unique, included a nice kitchenette and was an excellent value. The hotel is located in the heart of Colmar and well represents the family run business. The cozy wine tasting room provided excellent wine and invited good conversation. We loved staying here would stay here again in a heartbeat. From Wyoming, thank you.

good result for you - waiting like that can be exceedingly frustrating - and a good recommendation

That’s great that you had such a good experience. I stayed at Maison Martin Jund in May and also really enjoyed my stay. I loved my unique room, the kindness of the family, the great location, and the value. I also loved the two dogs that were always hanging around the courtyard. In case anyone sees this who is considering staying there and hates dogs, these were the two calmest dogs I ever saw. They mostly just laid there barely moving.
