A comparison of 3 Rue Cler hotels

I have been lucky enough to visit Paris several times over the past 2 years. And my favorite area is around the Rue Cler in the 7th. So here are my pros and cons on a few of Rick’s suggestions. I stayed in a superior room for all 3

Hotel Cadran. Pro-very well designed room. Comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, incredibly friendly front desk, great location. Cons - probably the smallest room but space was well utilized

Hotel Cler. Pros- great location, well outfitted room, nice bathroom, decent room size, great view to watch Rue Cler action Cons-in the early morning or late night there can be street noise if you leave the window open

Relais Bosquet. Pros - largest room of the 3, returning guests get free breakfast, room darkening blinds are very effective. Cons - poorly designed bathroom with no storage, pathetically bad pillows

None of these are bad but I’ll try for the Cadran in the future

Glad to respond to any questions

These are all in the same basic price range. I paid the least at Relais Bosquet but I think that was more timing. They are all starting at around 200 euros or so. (Relais was 184) When I compare on booking Cler tends to be a little bit more. Relais Bosquet and Cadran do give a small discount to return guests (that was better than any discounts in Rick’s book)

I stayed at the Relais Bosquet a few years ago in late November. Although I don't remember anything about the pillows, I agree that the room was a good size. The best part, however, was that, while taking down our passport info, the desk clerk noticed that it was my birthday and upgraded us to a room with a wonderful Eiffel Tower view! It was such a treat to watch the ET sparkle after dark and certainly added to my birthday in Paris!
