Greetings!
By design we have a 4 hour layover in Frankford Germany on July 12, 2023 mid morning. WE will probably just grab a cab somewhere for a bite.
Any suggestions where to head or what to see?

Do you mean Frankfurt? Are you arriving from outside the Schengen zone? If so, you will need to clear Passport Control before you can leave the airport. A taxi could take 20-30 min each way. And you will need to go through security on your return to the airport. Depending on where your connecting flight is going, you may or may not need to go through Passport Control again, as well. And because Frankfurt is such a huge and spread out place, it would be a mistake to underestimate the time required to get to your gate. All this to say- you don't have time to leave the airport. Grab a bite near your departure gate.

you may be able to get a layover tour but I don't see that you have any time for that.

I agree the layover is best spent in the airport.

several travel magazines and travel sections of major newspapers have articles specifically about how to spend a long layover in FRA
