3 or 4 nights in Chamonix - Late November

Hi there - my fiancé and I are going to Chamonix for the first time in late November (arriving on Thanksigiving). Any suggestions on where to stay?

Hotel de l'Arve - I've stayed there twice and would stay there again.

I stayed at Hotel L'Arve on an RS tour. It's a tad farther to walk to the center and gondola, but was very comfortable and wonderful breakfast buffet. Amazing pastries.

If it's available for your visit, I would recommend that you consider Hotel l'Oustalet. Reasonable price, charming place, considerate staff, good breakfast, and convenient to both central Chamonix as well as the téléphérique to Aiguille du Midi. I stay there whenever I visit Chamonix (as long as it's available).

Another vote for Hotel L'Arve.

My daughter & I spent a few nights there last May. The staff are friendly, helpful & some are multi- lingual.
We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but found delicious bakeries in the town.
Going up to the Aiguille du Midi was a highlight of our visit to Chamonix.

We also enjoyed eating delicious pizza & local food at Le Caveau a pizzeria/ restaurant built in a cave right below the main street (keep your eyes open as we almost missed it since they only have a small sign at ground level). It's very quaint inside this little cave where we ate twice during our stay.

If you're craving a nice burger you may enjoy a casual meal with the locals at MBC (Micro Brasserie de Chamonix). My daughter was craving a burger so this was a fun place to go to. It's a small place, so find out if you need reservations, we got there early one evening but then it became very crowded.
Both of these places were recommended to us by our airport shuttle van driver who lives in the area.

Have a wonderful trip!
