I was supposed to visit Finland in the spring of 2020. But some little virus called Covid stopped me. Now I have plans to visit Finland in early May. But some little virus called Putin may stop me:
While I'm not really worried, we are talking about Putin's ego here. He could flip on a dime. Or ruble.
So, some travel plans maybe Finnished?
Finland/Russia have had that policy + attitude for years. there is no way US is going to allow Finland to join NATO in the middle of another crisis. and first, NATO and Sweden has to happen.
so, yes you can this year... Mr Putin has other interests before Finland.

I'm in the same boat.. had a nice trip planned in May, 2020... still waiting to go but have decided to postpone due to war issues. Will plan once again in the coming year.
I was in Helsinki last week. If you didn't read the news, you wouldn't know there was a war on. It was business as usual.
I didn't learn any Finnish....., everyone, and I mean everyone, not just a few people, speak English.
Most people just started speaking English to me without even starting in Finnish.
I liked the city. Not a lot to do compared to other cities but a nice place to sit in a cafe and enjoy a coffee.
Glad your visit worked. We’re currently considering traveling to Scandinavia, Norway + at least one other country. Finland’s a possibility, although pretty slim. One of the viruses mentioned above is still a concern.
I can't help you as it's been many a year since I've been in my 20's. I prefer quieter cafe's and no longer go to bars.
