Does any one know where/how to/if you can send items home from Helsinki? We made several clothing purchases in Scotland and they are really taxing our luggage

I'm pretty sure DHL and other major shipping services have outlets in Helsinki (DHL
definitely does). Without knowing how much you paid for the items, though, I cannot
comment on how US customs will treat your package.
Hopefully you got any applicable VAT refunds in Scotland.

I'd recommend shipping home from Helsinki using DHL; or UPS and FedEx if they are available. I've shipped numerous items from the European Union to the US via DHL without issue, so I'd definitely recommend using them if possible.
As recently as March 2026, Finland's national carrier Postii may be restricting parcel delivery to the US. I tried shipping some fan gear from one of my favorite hockey teams in Helsinki to my home and the team notified me that Postii was not shipping to the US because of tariffs.

It's probably cheaper to buy another bag and check it (or one of your others) coming home. I guess if you're at the start of a long tour, that might not work very well.
