Hello! We will be in Helsinki next month and plan to ferry to Tallinn for the day. One of our traveling companions brought up the subject of passport control and I never thought of it. Does the process of checking passports take a lot of time? Just curious how much time it could take away from our day. Since it will be November I was thinking lines might not be bad…
Both Finland and Estonia are part of the Schengen Area so there generally isn’t passport control.
I would still carry your passport in case there are random checks.
Thank you so much!
Took the ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki earlier this summer. No passport check or identification check occurred. All I needed was my ferry ticket.
Ok thank you! My friend is from the UK and she was the one who was concerned. I will let her know!
