We are travelling to Iceland via the route New Delhi to Helsinki to Copenhagen to Reykjavik with Finnair connecting flights. Will our cargo luggage be tagged to the final destination or we have to collect it at Helsinki to make it through the customs. It is understood that we will be going through immigration/passport control at Helsinki.
This is just a guess: I would expect the luggage to be tagged all the way through if you are flying Finnair all the way. But check the tags your self when you deliver the luggage. The code is RKV.
Also you could ask Finnair directly. (But still check yourself in the airport)
If you are all on one ticket from New Dehli to Reykjavik, you should be able to check your luggage all the way through to Reykjavik. If you are on separate tickets, you may or may not be able to check your luggage to Reykjavik, or may have to pick it up and recheck it at some point.
When you check in at New Dehli, see what tags they put on your bags. If the tags say KEF, you're checked through to Reykjavik. If they don't, ask if they can do this; sometimes they will and sometimes they won't, these days.
Thank you for the replies. It was informative.
Hii again,
We are set to depart to Iceland on 10th Sept 2017. We are in some confusion as to whether we should carry Euros in cash from India. Can you please suggest whether Euros is accepted at Supermarkets, tolls, camping sites etc. in Iceland should there be any difficulty in giving back change by the merchants and vendors. Please help if you know anything about this.
Iceland is not on the euro; they use Icelandic krona. Unless you're going to a euro country, keep the euros at home.
