2 Full Days in Helsinki

Hi. We arrive in Helsinki after spending 11 days in Poland (Krakow and Gdansk) in the early afternoon on the 23rd of April.. We have the next two full days in Helsinki before we fly home. Should we spend one of those days in Taillin? I already booked a sauna on the second full day. I know the ferry to Taillin is about two hours each way. Or should we spend both days in Finland? Also, if we go to Taillin, do we need to book the ferry ahead of time? Thanks.

Relax and enjoy your 2 days in Helsinki! There is more than enough to see and do in this old, yet modern city. Unwind before your flight home!

Great suggestion as I was thinking the same thing. Also, is the ferry Stockholm all they cracked up to be?

Did Stockholm to Helsinki by ferry. Then, with three nights in Helsinki, I did the two-hour ferry to Tallinn. I am glad I did - BUT it takes longer than you think! The ferry is two hours, but you need to get to the ferry and check in about an hour before hand - so now 4 hours becomes 6. Also, it is a bit of a trek to get into town from the ferry adding to the time you have to tour. I'm glad I did it, but glad I had the next day, full day, in Helsinki. For only two days, I would NOT do it. I would have enjoyed the RS walk, but could only complete a little over half as I figured I better get walking back to the ferry. It probably wasn't smart to climb the 258 steps in St.Olav's to the tower - BUT what a great view and glad I did it (with just a two brief rest stops on the way!). Enjoyed Tallinn very much.
ALSO - when in Helsinki, if you like libraries, the OODI library incredible!
