I understand that Tallinn is a destination for revelers seeking to enjoy Estonias less expensive food and beverage. With this in mind, is it better to visit on a weekday as opposed to a weekend?
I suspect it might be. I observed no rambunctious behavior when I was in Tallinn in June 2023, but I was staying at the Citybox just north of the Rotermanni Kvartal, which probably protected me from a good bit of the tourist traffic. I'd guess weeknight reservations might also be a bit cheaper; I was staying for over seven nights, so it's not something to which I gave any thought.
I stayed at the Marriott in old town. It was very quiet.
I stayed this past May. I arrived on a Saturday and checked out on Tuesday.
I should have stayed longer.
Hmmm, I spent 7 nights there in September, Friday to Friday. I didn’t stay right in the center of Old Town - I had an apartment nearer St. Olaf’s Church, but I didn’t get any revelers there nor in town during the day and early evening any day I was there. Maybe it happens in the summer? Tallinn is certainly worth several days.
Part of my stay was over a weekend in August. The only thing I remember was the crowd noise when the movie theater across from my hotel let out. That lasted a bit and then it was quiet.
