Luggage Storage at Port of Tallinn

Hi there,

We are coming to Tallinn for the day via a night ferry from Stockholm. We plan to leave our luggage at the port and spend the day exploring and then take a late ferry up to Helsinki for the night.

The Port of Tallinn website states that the Old City Harbour Terminals A & D have luggage storage but I'm wondering if anyone can give me an idea of the size. They refer to the storage as "large luggage boxes" and "small luggage boxes" but do not give measurements. We will have carry-on sized (22.7” x 14.7” x 9.6”) hard shell luggage and I want to confirm that they will fit!

Has anyone ever stored their luggage there and can give me some insight? Thank you so much!

I can't answer your question, but "large luggage box" certainly sounds as if it would be adequate for a carry -on bag. Many people (including I) travel with larger suitcases. But it's always a good idea to have a back-up plan, because occasionally something doesn't turn out as expected. So Google luggage storage Tallinn and follow the likely-sounding links. Make a list of the possibilities, just in case.

Also check very carefully on the opening and closing times of the facility, comparing them to your ferry arrival and departure times. One place I found via Google (Radical Storage) seems to open at 11 AM and close at 6 PM. Those seem rather limited hours to me, but perhaps they align with the current ferry schedule.

Also check on whether the alternatives you uncover require prebooking; I believe some do, though I don't know how far in advance you must prebook.

So converting inches to mm your cases are 580 x 380 x 245mm so will fit the large size lockers

Ironically I found an email for the Port Information and a lovely lady also named Laura emailed me back and told me the boxes would fit my luggage. :-)
