Hotels in Tallinn

Looking for a reasonable priced, quiet hotel in Tallin. We do not need to be right in the Old Town, maybe a 15 minute walk to Old Town. We will be there in July, so decent blinds to keep some light out and a fan in the room would be helpful, a good breakfast a plus. Thank you.

I don't know if it meets all of your criteria, but we enjoyed staying at the Hotel Cru in old town. It does serve breakfast. It was one of the biggest rooms we've ever had on a trip, with a nice four-poster bed.

I am staying at the Kalev Spa Hotel in May 2020. We picked it because it is on the edge of the Old Town but not right in it. As we will be arriving by ferry from Helsinki proximity to the wharf was also attractive. It’s a 4 star hotel with an attached swimming and spa complex. Hubby is pleased that it has a fitness room. We got a good price including breakfast of USD88- per night. We’re looking forward to our stay.

I have been to Tallinn twice now and both times chose excellent hotels in Old Town, both had a great breakfast and A/C. First was the Boutique Hotel Savoy on Suur-Karja at the edge of old town so it was easily accessed by taxi to/from the airport--some streets further into the delightful maze of old town streets are pedestrian only. Last May I stayed at the Von Stackelberg Hotel on Toompuiestee at the foot of Toompea Hill and I preferred this one--gorgeous old residence of a baron, very quiet and the room was large and nicely appointed. Very attentive front desk staff. It was about a 10 minute walk into old town past a beautiful park and also close to a wonderful market at the old train station called the Balti Jaam and the excellent Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom.

The newer part of Tallinn is fine, too, but has distinctly unattractive remnants of the former Soviet occupation, thus I much prefer to stay in or at the very edge of old town, which is the most beautiful and marvelous to explore little town I have ever visited.

I stayed at a 4star, outside of Old Town last August. I cannot recommend it - close enough walk, but the promised A/C was a requested fan (it was actually hot) and the breakfast was good, but poorly run. I'm staying at a much smaller inn in Old Town next month. Check different sites that focus on hotels and trust your gut. What one person likes might not be your cup of tea. Tallinn is one awesome town and I cannot wait to return! The people, especially the drivers on the Hop On Hop Off tours were incredibly helpful and kind. They made my time there even better. Enjoy Tallinn!
