Hotel Options-Amsterdam

We would like to be able to walk to some sights in Amsterdam and still not pay over $325/night.
In speaking with friends--
We were given the following suggestions:
Movenpick Hotel, Sofitel Legend, Hotel Arena, and Canal House.

Has anyone stayed at any of these and were you pleased?

What exactly is your budget?
The Movenpick is attached to the cruise ship terminal and not within walking distance of the city center, but does often have cheap rates. Sofitel Legend is in the city center but one of the most expensive hotels in Amsterdam.
Hotel Arena is a beautiful design hotel in a residential neighborhood just outside of the tourist zone but just a short ride away by tram. Canal House is a small luxury hotel right in the heart of the picturesque Jordaan neighborhood, rates will probably be over $350.

A problem is that you have posted this question about Amsterdam in the Estonia Forum.

There's a chance it will be seen better by people who may be able to help if it is in the Netherlands Forum, as that's the country that Amsterdam is in.

You don't say what kind of money you are talking about - could be Australian Dollars or Canadian Dollars. Or other.

I used to stay at Sofitels and Movenpicks, but now they are too expensive for me, and Amsterdam is a very expensive city.

You don't say how many "We" is, or if there are children or people with mobility problems.

You might get a better response if you asked this question in the Netherlands forum instead of the Estonia forum.
