My husband and I are looking for a hotel in Tallinn in the old town or close to it. Any thoughts on the CRU Hotel?
I stayed at Hotel Telegraaf for a few nights last year and really liked it. Great location in the midst of all the Old Town sights, and it had quite a bit of character (i.e. not a boxy chain hotel). Good breakfasts as well.
I also stayed at the Hotel Telegraaf this past May. Very nice. Great location. One block from the main square of the old town.
We stayed at the Nunne Boutique hotel in Tallinn in May. Highly recommend. Walkable to just about everything but not right on the square. Great breakfast. Treated us very well in terms of holding luggage etc. No hesitation to recommend.
I stayed at My City last month, easy to walk everywhere
My first visit to Tallinn I stayed at the Savoy Boutique Hotel on Suur-Karja inside the edge of Old Town--lovely hotel in every way, so when I returned a few years later I wanted to stay there again but no rooms available so I chose the Von Stackelberg, the gorgeous old former estate of Baron Von Stackelberg on Toompuistee, just outside the Old Town walls and near Alexander Nevsky Cathedral--about a 5 minute walk past a pretty park into old town. Really beautiful hotel, spacious room, helpful staff and excellent breakfast. 10 minute walk to the Balti Jaama Turg, a really interesting marketplace with food, antiques and quality handcrafted items near the train station.
