After Rick's warnings about Viator I am interested to know who the Tallinn HOHO operator is. I am sure I might find him myself thru Dr Google but if you have used him/her, then can they be recommended to pre-book a one-day tour??

Viator was bought by TripAdvisor last year. If you would like to book directly online, go here> www.citysightseeing.ee/en/book-online-now.html and they will give you 10% off for booking directly. You need to tell them the specific date you want but your ticket is good for 6 months past that date so if you don't tour that day, you've got 6 months to take your hop on hop off bus tour. Also, they have other tours there in Tallinn you can also book.
I visited Tallinn and enjoyed 2 full day trips with the wonderful EstAdventures, they also offer walking tours and other shorter options to see the lovely city and surrounding area of Tallinn. HOHO wouldn't really work in the Old Town area, too small and congested even for cars, really. They have small groups and great guides, if you're lucky you'll get the owner himself, Andrew, an Australian who visited Estonia, met and married an Estonian and has lived there for about 8 years. Highly recommend!
