York to Hadrian Wall

Can anyone recommend a tour from York toHadrian Wall? By this time on our trip we would have been traveling extensively by train and will welcome a tour that will pick us up and drop us off
Thanks

Here are some guides and tours you might consider. I don't have experience with any of them. You'd probably have to take a train to Newcastle or at least Durham to connect. I don't know about anyone who would pick you up in York, and Google wasn't helpful. You'd pay a lot just to be driven to and from York, compared to train fare to Newcastle.

Here's info about the seasonal bus (AD 122, get it?) that runs along the roads nearest the wall, from one end to the other. You could get to it from Newcastle station or Hexham. We took the bus from Hexham and back, and found it easy and convenient.

Hope that helps.

We visited Britain for 4 weeks using a rental car and did York, Durham and Hadrian's Wall as part of our trip.

We stayed overnight at Haltwhistle, near the wall and some of the nice museums. Having been to the Great Wall of China, Hadrian's Wall is a bit of a disappointment. It was about waist high. You could see fields after fields of stone walls on our way to and from the site and my wife kept joking, there's Hadrian's Wall, there's Hadrian's Wall. She was right, it has been picked over. Still, it is worth a visit.

Thank you for all your input. After additional research, we will visit York as a day trip from London this time around. Will leave Hadrian Wall for another time.
We do really want to go to an evensong at Minster so will now start looking into that.
Thanks
