Will be traveling to London, York, and Edinburgh in September. Looking for suggestions for a good B&B in York something centrally located. Please share your experiences.
Thank you.
Minster Hotel at a great location.
The Guy Fawkes pub opposite the Minster has rooms. Fawkes was born there.
I stayed at Minster Hotel. Click my profile for trip report/review.
We were in York in 2017 and it was our favorite few days. We stayed at Abbey Guest House which we were able to walk to from the train station, and then walk to everything we wanted to see in the area. We loved the walking tour we took (can't remember which one), enjoyed the pubs, the train museum, and the ruins. Wished we had stayed another night.
Check out the Bar Convent on Blossom Street. It is just a few minutes walk from the Railway Station and just outside Micklegate Bar.
We had a good stay at the Abbey Guest House years ago. The ownership has changed but based on the website it looks as good as then. Right on the canal, near the station in one direction and the city center in the other, limited parking if that matters.
We stayed at the very central small Galtres Lodge Hotel in the center near the Shambles, and loved their hospitality! They are at 54 Low Petergate. I reserved their room with a large non-working fireplace. We had wonderful breakfasts and a dinner there, too!
Thank you all. You’ve given me great suggestions and I’ll be researching all of them.
