But I'm worried about the time allowed for staying in the country to do that. I know 6 months is the maximum for touring and visiting. I don't know how long the courses/semesters/seasons/research would be? Would I have to add a student visa to my passport? I'll be 59 in a few months. Live in New Mexico. I think you should contact the school, too. Degree programs take 2 - 3 years, for which you would need a student visa, but they also appear to offer shorter Certificate programs and individual classes: http://www.royal-needlework.org.uk/content/2/royal_school_of_needlework_hand_embroidery_classes_for_beginners_and_experts.
