Windsor Castle tickets - Conquer the tower

Hello, planning on purchasing Windsor Castle tickets and I saw an option for the conquer the tower tickets. It is timed entry and standard admission is included in purchase.
Wondering how that works in terms of what is the best time to purchase for the conquer the tower tickets. Does booking Windsor Castle tickets in advance online help skip the queue getting in the Windsor Castle standard admission. For example If I purchase 10:15 am tickets to the conquer the tower tickets does this affect if I can get into the castle for standard admission earlier vs. If I purchase 12 pm conquer the Tower tickets, can I still get in at 9 am for standard admission?
Any suggestions what would work better with 3 kids and avoid crowds, a conquer the tower earlier in the morning and then visiting the Windsor rooms later or visting the rooms first and then conquer the tower in the early afternoon. We need to be out of the Castle by 2 pm to head to another destination. Is this enough time?

I know nothing about conquer the tower, however do not go around the time of the changing of the guards as it was a mob scene when were there a few days ago. Your pre-purchased tickets will give you access to the front of the line so definitely buy them ahead. The lines stretched down into the town.

Yes we got skip the very long line and it was wonderful! The tour of the tower was great also. My wife knew all of the answers to the questions about the Royals. Ha. You can visit the rooms before or after the tour. We did prebook the tour tickets which you will need to do.

Thank you! I booked my tickets for a Sunday, which is the only day we can visit Windsor Castle so we will be missing the church and the Changing of the Guards.

Purchased my tickets and it said to pick up at the attraction. Do you know the process for this? Where exactly at Windsor do we pick up the tickets? Will there be another long queue line just to pick up our tickets?

I booked my Conquer the Tower tickets for 10:40 am. Someone mentioned that the line for security will be very slow and long even though I get to skip the queue entrance line. Should we still get their extra early to be one of the first to go through security or is it safe to just arrive by 9:30 am opening time? How long did it take you to get through security, fingers crossed that we will make it on time.

Thank you in advance!

When I was there in mid-may there was only one main entrance and one ticket office. Separate lines for those buying tickets (long 40 minute wait) and a short one for those who prebooked. Security check line was short but this was early afternoon. I believe the entrance is on a street named Castle Hilll.

just wander up Castle Hill - where everybody else is going - and ask somebody obviously in dark blue and red uniform, for help. They will point you further up and to the right, and then things will begin to be clearly marked. All except the toilets after you clear security. Around the corner and down the stairs.....

I've never heard of conquer the tower, and have been an annual ticket holder.
