I think I saw that blue jeans are not allowed for the Windsor Castle tour?? That seems like a real shock to me since we’ll be there in cooler weather and didn’t plan to bring slacks. What do you know?

All I see, relative to attire, is a suggestion to wear comfortable shoes
It's been awhile since I was there, but I know there was no mandate against blue jeans then.
Are you looking at the Historic Cornwall site? Because I think that’s specifically for the Royal Windsor Horse Show. It mentions you can buy trousers from “numerous trade stands.” It’s been about 25 years since I was last at Windsor, but I don’t remember hawkers selling trousers outside the castle walls. :-). The actual website doesn’t list any restrictions or codes.
Lisa, can you provide a link to whatever website you're seeing this restriction published? I'm not seeing anything like that on the Windsor Castle website, and both my husband and myself wore jeans to visit the castle when we were there some years ago. In fact, that's ALL we wore for that week in London; to Westminster Abbey, St Paul's, Tower of London....

Google up some pix of visitors to the castle; you'll see LOTS of denim!
I wore jeans. No restrictions that I can recall.
Look closely at the photo on the Royal Collection Trust website: rct.uk
The photo that says “Windsor Castle Warden with visitors.” One of the visitors is wearing jeans.
Thanks all for your input….it’s much appreciated! What I read did mention the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and I wasn’t sure what that actually had to do with the castle tour. Looks like jeans are allowed and we’re good. Thanks again!!
thank you for the reminder about the Royal Windsor Horse Show. It is time I started getting my tickets for the season of 4star and 5star shows - Badminton, Windsor, Rockingham, Burghley. I'm late.... argh
Hard to imagine anywhere in the world these days would dare to ban jeans, they would close in a few days
Nigel, wish I could go to the horse shows and 3-days with you! My horse fix this year are the Lippizans in Vienna. Enjoy!
