Windsor Castle, Crowds

When we complete the RS 14 day Best of England tour, we are planning on going to Windsor either the afternoon of 23 June (Saturday) or the afternoon of 25 June (Monday). My question is which day will have the smaller crowd at Windsor Castle?

Claudia's basically right of course, but as a general idea a weekday is likely to be less crowded than a weekend. International tourists will go whatever day they can, but working Brits will likelier go on the weekend.

I realize it will be crowed either day. My question is which will be least crowed.? I expected it would be week days, but wanted to double check as you never know. It may not be significantly different.

With both being in the crowded touristed month of June, I would think a Monday afternoon would be the lesser of two evils regarding crowds than a Saturday afternoon. If you could figure out how to get there 20 minutes before the castle opens in the morning, you will reap the benefits especially if it's a weekday.

I am planning on going to Windsor Castle in the afternoon because of the advice in its website. It states that independent travelers should come in the afternoon because most of the tour buses come in the morning and the crowds will be much less.

I'm an independent traveler and I bought my ticket to Windsor Castle in advance online. They mailed it to me. I arrived at Windsor Castle visitor entrance about 30 minutes prior to opening. The one tour bus that was there first thing in the morning had its passengers stand on a different line from individual visitors. The independent travelers were allowed in first. Crowds never impeded on my enjoyment which is why I recommended visiting in the morning upthread. And 'morning' means when the visitor entrance opens.
